I'm Randy Long. I'm an exit planning advisor, attorney, wealth manager, and author, the CEO of Build Prove Sell, and the founder of Long Family Office. I'm based in Wilmington, North Carolina.
My Story
After graduating from San Joaquin College of Law in 1989, I opened my own law practice focused on estate planning and business law. Around the same time I started Long Family Office, a wealth management firm dedicated to building and preserving family legacies. Over 35 years later, I've grown those into two complementary practices that serve family business owners and their families.
At Long Family Office, I advise high-net-worth families on succession planning, wealth management, business valuation, and protecting family legacies across generations.
In 2013, I started working alongside my daughter Ellen, and together we built Build Prove Sell. Our mission is to help business owners build a self-managing, turn-key business so they can enjoy an extraordinary sales price on exit.
Work
I hold a J.D. and a CFP designation. My work sits at the intersection of law, financial planning, and business strategy. I created the Bulletproof Exit Process, a structured approach that helps owners prepare their companies for sale or transition to the next generation. I advise on succession planning, wealth management, business valuation, and family legacy planning.
I've written two books, The Braveheart Exit: 7 Steps to Creating Your Family Business Legacy and Bulletproof Your Exit. I also speak regularly on exit planning, business succession, and the challenges business owners face when preparing to sell.
